1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

OvalFaceShape.com (“the Website”, “we”, “us”) is an educational website that helps visitors explore face shapes and facial proportions through free tools and styling guides. These Terms of Use set out the rules for using the Website.

4. Face-Shape Tools and Analysis Results

Results are estimates, not definitive classifications

Face-shape categories used on this Website — oval, round, square, rectangle, oblong, diamond, heart, triangle, inverted triangle and pear — are widely used styling conventions, not a formal medical or anthropological taxonomy. Different systems draw category boundaries differently, and the same face can receive different labels from different methods.

Automated and measurement-based results are estimates. They may be imperfect and can change with photo quality, lighting, shadows, camera angle, head position, expression, glasses, hair covering the face outline, image resolution and landmark-detection quality. The Website does not promise an accuracy level, a single “correct” answer, or a guaranteed outcome.

How to use a result

• Use a clear, evenly lit, front-facing photo where a tool requests one, with hair away from the forehead and jaw where possible.
• Treat mixed or neighbouring categories as useful information, not as an error to be forced into one label.
• Compare the result with visible traits and, where relevant, your own measurements.
• Use the result for education and styling decisions, not as a basis for medical, cosmetic or other professional treatment decisions.

Where a tool shows a confidence label, a score or a proportion, that label describes how clearly the supplied input matched the tool’s own criteria. It is not a probability from a clinical study, a beauty score, or a health assessment, unless a specific tool page substantiates a narrower meaning.

5. Image Uploads, Camera Access, and User-Provided Information

Those downloads are not your photo being uploaded: they are the tool itself being loaded into your browser so the analysis can run on your device. “Processed in your browser” therefore does not mean a page makes no network requests at all — it means your image itself is not sent to, or stored on, our servers.

Measurements and quiz answers you enter are used in your session to produce the result shown to you. They are not saved by us on our servers as a record of your result.

6. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Activities

You agree to use the Website lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

• Use the Website for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others.

Unless stated otherwise, the Website’s original text, design, branding, graphics, guides and tools are owned by OvalFaceShape.com or its founder, or are used under licence, subject to applicable law and to third-party rights.

You may read, view and use the Website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not, without permission:

Citation of a research source, such as Farkas (1994) for landmark terminology, does not transfer ownership of that source, and does not mean the Website’s scoring is the same as any normative database in that source.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of a photo or other material you submit. You retain your rights in your own material, subject to Section 8.

8. User-Submitted Content and Feedback

The Website, as inspected, provides contact and feedback routes — including a quick mailbox on the Contact page and a feedback form on the homepage with an optional email field — but no public posting, comment publishing or user-account feature was found in the inspected pages. 11. Disclaimers and No Guarantee of Results

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless OvalFaceShape.com and its founder against reasonable losses, damages and costs (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Website, or material you submit in breach of Section 6 or Section 8.

This indemnity does not apply to the extent a loss was caused by our own negligence or breach, and it does not require you to waive any right that cannot lawfully be waived. Any indemnity claim will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
